Who Are We?

YouthBeat is an innovative digital learning tool and program developed by The Royal Conservatory of Music’s public education division, Learning Through the Arts.

YouthBeat bridges the gap between what matters most to many students – their music – and what generalist teachers are equipped to support.

Our vision is to leverage students’ musical interests to support deeper engagement in literacy, numeracy, and digital fluency, while developing collaborative and creative thinking skills.

YouthBeat is so intuitive, users do not need any formal musical knowledge…so flexible, it can support the widest range of musical interests…so robust it can be used to enhance math and literacy outcomes.

A simple idea with endless possibilities. We invite you to explore it, whether as an alternative for schools lacking music programs, as a music creation platform for schools that do have music, or as a vehicle for enhanced learning across curriculum.
